Zip lining is always found under the definition of adventure. Here in Western Mass, we have not one, but two zip line adventure options. Berkshire East Mountain Resort and Deerfield Valley Canopy Tours are both located in Charlemont, right off 91. Take the family or go with some friends to ride above the tree lines. There is no better way to see the valley than from the top.
Speaking of the top, If you like heights, Six Flags, New England in Agawam, has plenty of high-flying adventure. The ultimate thrill seeker is in for an adventure if they have never tackled the Superman ride. “Built in Switzerland, it features a 208-foot (63 m) lift hill, a 221-foot (67 m) drop, and 5,400 feet (1,600 m) of the track”. Once at the top of the first hill look down to see a perfect panoramic view of Western Mass.
If you want a more tranquil experience mixed with a fair amount of outdoor adventure, camping can give you that. Live among nature for a weekend. Build a fire. Pitch a tent. Swim or fish in the CT River.
