Entering its sophomore season as a member of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League, the Westfield Starfires play out of Billy Bullens Field in Westfield. The 2020 schedule includes a handful of prime weekend dates with five Fridays, four Saturdays, and four Sundays on tap.

The FCBL is a wood-bat, collegiate summer league featuring the top college baseball players in the country.  Each team plays a 56-game schedule from May through the beginning of August.

The team name pays homage to the City of Westfield’s deep connection with the Air National Guard stationed at Barnes Airport.

The team name is derived from the Lockheed F-94 Starfire, a first-generation jet aircraft of the United States Air Force. The F-94 was the first operational USAF fighter equipped with an afterburner and was the first jet-powered all-weather fighter to enter combat during the Korean War in January 1953.

The Starfires are committed to honoring, enhancing, and adding to the baseball legacy in the City of Westfield.

Billy Bullens Field was built in the 1930s as part of President Franklin Roosevelt’s “New Deal,” and has often been referred to as “Westfield’s Field of Dreams.” The entire complex was upgraded in 2016 to accommodate the Babe Ruth World Series.

It is located of Rte 20, Russell Rd, behind the Westfield Technical Academy.
